Child Protection/Safeguarding Training

In February, three members of the Impact team attended a CCPAS safeguarding training day entitled Facing the Unthinkable. The Churches Child Protection Advisory Service are a national, independent, Christian-based charity. They provide professional training resources, advice and support in all areas of safeguarding and good working practice with children and vulnerable people. As an organisation with over twenty years experience in the field of child protection, it became clear that these were people who knew what they were talking about. Joining around fifty people from churches and organisations across the south, we covered subjects such as the definitions of abuse, developing policies and the legal foundations. We had a chance to look at the wide range of resources produced and had the opportunity to speak one to one with the organisers. A very worthwhile day!
